A domain name is simple to understand: it is simply a web site address that your company can be found at. For example, BMW's main domain name is bmw.com, however, they also own bmw.co.uk as they have their own UK 'portal'.Our domain name is pleer.co.uk and we do not own pleer.com. We have no interest in a .com domain because we are not necessarily targeting people within the USA. Of course, you can purchase the .com domain to stop possible competitors from "cybersquatting" on your name, however, with the correct web design and SEO, you won't really need to worry too much about people visiting a domain you don't own.
