It can be installed using the recently launched Microsoft Web Platform Installer and comes with tools for creating and managing robots.txt and sitemap.xml files and analysing website content for problems with SEO, accessibility and performance.
Scott Guthrie of Microsoft said in a blog post that small errors can lead to websites missing out on search traffic, including multiple URLs leading to the same content and broken links.
"These mistakes are often easy to fix - the challenge is how to discover and pinpoint them within a site," he commented.
SEO spending will be higher than that on contextual ads by 2013, according to eMarketer.
